Building Energy Rating (BER)
Ocean Property Assessors are registered SEAI Assessors for all Residential and Commercial Property in Ireland. A BER is required for SEAI Grant works including External Insulation, Attic Insulation, Pumped Cavity Wall Insulation & Boiler Upgrades etc. A BER is also require if a proeprty is Sold, Rented or Leased.
A Building Energy Rating (BER) is a grade given to a building, which confirms the energy performance of that building and is calculated in energy used per square meter per year (kWh/m2/yr) .
The BER is similar to the energy rating of an electrical appliance with an ‘A1’ rating being the most efficient and ‘G’ the least efficient.
The BER calculation is effected by the dimensions of the property, construction type, window, doors, ventilation, heating system, boiler efficiency and living area sizes etc. Upon completion of the assessment of the property a BER Certificate will be issued.
